sun diaryTHE BALCONY FIELD JOURNAL

NO FORECAST. JUST OBSERVATION.

Notice the light
you have.

Every corner tells a different story. Record when direct sunlight reaches your balcony, then compare the little places that make it yours.

02 / READ THE DAY

Your light, mapped.

0 observations

Totals merge overlapping intervals within each zone. They describe your records, not the full day’s exposure or a weather forecast.

SMALL HABITS, BETTER OBSERVATIONS

01

Name a fixed spot.

“Front left corner” is more useful than “the balcony”. Reuse the exact same zone name to compare its records.

02

Keep gaps as gaps.

If you did not observe an hour, leave it unknown. An empty timeline means no observation was recorded, not that the spot received no sunlight.

03

Return in another season.

Your own records may change across dates. This journal calculates clock-time intervals only, not solar position, weather or plant suitability.

Times are recorded as local wall-clock minutes. On clock-change days this is not an elapsed-time measurement across a daylight-saving transition. Compare observations made on the same clock basis.
